As I write this submission for the February newsletter, the weather has changed, and it looks like winter is back again. Time to settle in and sew!
For our February book raffle, I have picked two books to spark your creativity:
- The Big Book of Strip Quilts: Start with Strips to Make 60 Stunning Quilts, published by Martingale, 2017. I love The Big Book Series that contains so many different projects from so many different quilt designers. This book features quilts made with 2½” strips, either purchased in a roll or cut from your stash.
- Fun with Panels: Create One-of-a-Kind Quilts-Tips & Techniques for Success, by Cyndi McChesney, C&T Publishing, 2022. The book from last month’s raffle Learn to Quilt with Panels was so popular, that I decided to pick another book dealing with panels. This book has many design ideas for highlighting panels.
Both books are in the guild library. Just let me know if you would like to borrow these books or any others in the library collection.
The library books are stored in our storage locker. One box of books is brought to the guild meeting each month.
In February box #5 with titles starting with H and I will be brought to the meeting, but any book from the collection can be requested.
Contact me at library@design.edqg.ca for book title information, or check the List of Library Books on the guild website.
In January our raffle books and winners were:
- Quilter’s Project Planner: Everything You Need to Dream, Plan & Organize 12 Projects! by Betsy La Honta and Kerry Graham, Stash Books (C&T Publishing), 2020. Winner: Myrna P., ticket #836390.
- Learn to Quilt with Panels: Turn any Fabric Panel into a Unique Quilt, by Carolyn S Vagts, Annie’s, 2022. Winner: Lynn M., ticket #836451.
Thank you for your support of the library and the book raffles which raise money for new books in the library. In January we raised $138.00.
